Technical Writer to Prepare Reference Document in Game Development
Introduction:
Gaza University (GU) has received a grant from the Quality Improvement Fund (QIF) - Education to Work Transition Project - Ministry of Education and Higher Education and funded by the World Bank for the project entitled: Enhancing the Quality of Multimedia Program to Get Engaged in Game Industry (EMPEG); The project aims to develop the multimedia program at Gaza University towards game development to enhance graduates employability and open a new market for them locally and internationally. Accordingly, Gaza University seeks to recruit a qualified technical writer to prepare a reference document for Game Development.
Assignment Objective:
Gaza University is considering the selection of a qualified technical writer to be part of the consultation team, who will be responsible for preparing a reference document for the game production according to the knowledge and training that project team acquired during their study tour.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
The technical writer will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Meet the project team who attended the training of the study tour and conduct deep discussion regarding the training content.
- Review the training materials provided by the hosted organizations of the study tour to benefit from the information provided.
- Prepare a reference document (a booklet) for Games production including the following main topics:
- Games Production Process.
- Main roles in game production process.
- Courses to be included in any game development degree.
- Games development Engines.
- Types of games.
- Example of successful games in the market.
- Examples of game design templates.
Qualifications & Skills:
Qualified should possess the following:
- At least a bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering or any related discipline from an accredited university.
- Proven experience in conducting similar tasks in preparing reference documents
- At least two year of experience in technical writing in English.
- Good knowledge in game development
- Excellent English writing and listening skills.
Deliverables:
- A well written and comprehensive reference document for game development (20 pages in English).
Time Frame: The expected level of effort for preparing the reference document is estimated as 10 working days within the period from 30th July to 21st Aug 2019.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
Contract Type: Lump Sum Contract.
